About

I am a freelance web designer and developer, and graduate of Stanford University class of 2006 with a BA in Music Composition. I am currently working part-time towards an MFA in Web Design and New Media at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco (expected graduation date of December 2012). I am passionate about graphic and web design, communications strategy, user experience design and usability, music composition, visual arts, and photography (among other things).

I currently work in arts administration as Communications Manager at the Stanford Institute for Creativity and the Arts (SiCa). In my role at SiCa, I have developed several critical websites for the arts community at Stanford – the Student Arts Website, the Arts Guide, and the Arts Initiative website (and affiliated sites), successfully engaged thousands of students and members of the Stanford community in the arts, and implented grant programs, sustainable university traditions (such as An Art Affair festival), and provided resources and assistance to dozens of university organizations.

At Stanford, I have designed the curriculum for and developed a specialized class for arts-focused students: Technology for Artists. Topics covered include: introduction to HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, usability, typography, rich media, and the end result for each student is a web portfolio. This class has typically had a waiting list of up to 80 students.

Other interests include backpacking, camping, cycling, traveling, Bikram yoga, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my beloved family, friends, and cats.
